Holiday Hangover

I'm the worst. I literally have minor responsibilities in my life and I can't even make my ass blog about the minor responsibilities in my life. The holidays came out of nowhere and pretty much kicked my ass.

Last I typed I was on my way to Iceland. Such a wonderful country and I greatly enjoyed myself.

Gulfoss

Blue Lagoon

Skogafoss

Glacier walk on Solheimajokull

Everything was great: the food, the quaint town, the adventure and exploration and of course, the people. Upon my arrival back home however, I was a different person for probably 2 solid weeks.

I have always been a very productive sleeper. Back when I was 18-20ish, I could easily sleep 12 hours, sometimes sleeping into the afternoon on weekends. But when I got home, I couldn't buy 5 hours a sleep a night. I tried going to bed at 10, I was up at 4. I tried 11, I was up, FOR THE DAY, at 3. Then, when I tried pushing myself to stay up until 2 or 3, I would be up at 6 or 7. It was actually painful, I have never been that tired in my life. During the same time, I was having horrible headaches and my dexterity was completely off. I have never been a clumsy person, but I was dropping everything, knocking things over, and if I wasn't bumping into something, I was tripping over it. My whole body was screwed up, my "friend" decided to skip a month too, which obviously in hind sight is a great thing, but at the time, I was anticipating it every day for over 4 weeks. Not cool.

Everytime I thought about writing, something else would come up. The best friend had her 2nd son on Dec 30th! That was very exciting news, and now I'm leaving for Virginia to meet the little tyke and see his older brother, my God son, this Sunday. I'm going down for a week, which will be the longest we've been able to spend together since Beck moved down there many years ago.

I also went to NYC for 2 days right after NYE. That was such a great time! I joined Tbag and her mom on their girls getaway and we had a blast. We did the touristy stuff during the day: Roc Center, 5th Ave, Times Sq and Canal St; then at night, we kinda just hopped around to smaller bars in the area and proceeded to have ourselves some good, drunk times. I love my Scat ladies!

In case it's not clear: I'm still unemployed. However, it's really starting to become an annoyance. I need to get back to having a real life and working toward some sort of goal. Such as a 401K.

After VA, I'd like to squeeze a mini trip to Nashville with friends in Feb. After that, I gotta make something happen job wise, and quickly gain some vacation time, I have tentative plans for a trip out to San Francisco/Napa in late spring ;)

Hollywood Hotspot

What's better than a hot man? A hot man and his adorable baby

Star Tracks: Star Tracks: Tuesday, October 25, 2011 | Jessica Simpson
Ahh, the jig is up, Jess
  • Twice, in the past 2 weeks, different shows have aired episodes out of order. WTH! It's a little jarring to have a new character pop up in middle of a scene, and then the following week, have that character properly introduced. Do they think that goes unnoticed? Because it doesn't.
  • Going to see Ides of March tomorrow with Pammy Sue. Wonder if Ryan and George will have any shirtless scenes?

Remind me not to drink the water!!

**So evidently the cool thing to do these days is to get pregnant. Shit is an epidemic. During the span of about 6 days, three people told me they were with child, all 12 weeks along, to be exact. F. That's a lot of hormones. Don't come calling me when you're pushing that monster out. As much as I do love a baby, and I do, that's a lot of babies coming...in a short amount of time.

**When is the last time you were shocked to end up at a toll booth? Probably not very often because 1) they tell you as you get on a highway that it is a toll road, and 2) because they give you about 67 heads up on the way to the damn booth. So why is it that I have to wait behind the jackass who is trying to fish through his console for spare change at the window?

**TOTALLY off subject: What is it with murders or whatever doing what they can to avoid the death penalty? If I were on trial for murder (which I'm hoping to never be) and it was life in prison w/o the possibility of parole and the death penalty...sign me up for the chair...or table...or firing squad. The food, the living conditions, the outfits.... I'm all set with spending 50+ years behind bars.

Mothers Make The World Go 'Round

PS and I (and Chin, our Sher Pai, RIP) 1983
Everyone has a mother. Not everyone has a great mother, which is a damn shame. I am blessed to have an absolute, without a doubt, accepting, loving, caring, funny, supportive and non-judgemental mother.
I really hit the mother jackpot with PS. Although she believes, and routinely suggests, that I don't appreciate her, I 100% do. My mother is a big "actions speak louder than words" kinda lady, so accordingly, taking out the trash and doing the dishes expresses love more than "I Love You". I, however, am not a subscriber to that school of thought, but that's neither here nor there. Even when she drives me crazy, I do not know what I would do without my mother. She has been a single mother getting shit done my whole life, and she deserves a GD medal for putting up with my shit for 29 years.

Even with the fact that she has not spoken to me in 20 days

Celebs + babies = up my alley

There is nothing I love more than pregnant/adopting celebs! Because just as their lives are more interesting than ours, so are their pregnancies. Making it all the more exciting is that it is two of my favorite ladies! Tina Fey just admitted that she is 5 months prego (5 months!) with her 2nd child. Mariska Hargitay (L & O SVU) just adopted a baby girl named Amaya Josephine ....love and congrats!
